Who doesn’t think that Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice is the most romantic story of all time?

“Her heart did whisper that he had done it for her.”

“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.

Guess who this is? Go on… guess.

Brigitte Bardot's 1952 Wedding

Figured it out? It’s Brigitte Bardot! (Take a moment for shock and awe!) You’d never guess that this international super model was once this tiny 18-year-old bride.

Brigitte Bardot 1952 Wedding - with her father on the left & husband Roger Vadim

Bardot married her first husband, Roger Vadim, in the Church of Passy in Paris on December 21, 1952.

I love everything about her look. But mainly, I love how simply sweet her bridal styling is. Her gown is quite conservative but has some very feminine details with the little flowers at the color and the buds on the veil. Very different from the way she would be styled for many years in the future.

A Downton Abbey Wedding

I re-watched every episode of Downton Abbey last week when I was feeling under the weather. So now, I’m totally obsessed with all things 20s. I cannot wait for Lady Mary and Mathew Crawley to marry! It will be the event of a lifetime! So, SPOILER, here are a couple of leaked photos of actress Michelle Dockery in a perfect 1920s veil and gown. Enjoy!

Behind the Veil

I just love a 1930s era wedding! This veil is perfectly perfect! Plus this shot from outside their getaway car is ethereal! Check out the rest of this perfect wedding on Ruffled.

Old Wedding Photo Friday!

This 1920’s bride really is perfection. Look at her pin curls and the way her veil sits low on her head with the flowers right over her ears. I’m sure her dress is ankle length with some exquisite beading. I just love it.

Old Wedding Photo Friday!

This of course is Audrey Hepburn at her wedding in 1969 to Andrea Dotti. I love the little hood thing she’s wearing! I also love a bride in pink for her second wedding. Very classy!
