Trying to feel warm…

It’s a lovely 8 degrees in Chicago today. This is pretty typical weather for February 1, but compared to the winter we’ve been having and the unusually warm winter we had last year, this feels like the tundra! My Cuddle Duds and exceptionally large North Face jacket cannot brave the arctic winds. It takes me three times as long to get ready to leave the house as it does in the summer. I have to blow dry my hair so that I don’t get sick being outside in the sub-zero temperatures with wet hair.

I can’t wait for summer!!!!!!!! While, really, I’d settle for anything over 30 degrees right now… Summertime just seems so romantically inviting in this unfortunate icey land (I’m not dramatic about the cold at all).

So, to warm my spirit (if nothing else), here is a lovely beachy expose.

Now aren’t you ready for summer too? Don’t these pictures make you yearn for sun kissed skin, beach days and street festivals? Mmmm…

Love on the Beach

I simply love these three different retro beach engagement sessions. They are so fun and romantic. I have got to do a love shoot like this with the hubs at some point (we’ll see if he’s as into it as I am).

The first set of photos is from Ruffled. I love everything about it; from her bathing suit to the vintage copy of Life Magazine!

This engagement session is from Green Wedding Shoes. I love the polka dotted swimming suit and parasol. Perfectly Retro.

Again from Ruffled. This vibrant shoot on Coney Island is one of my all time favorite  inspiration shoots of all time. The models are just adorable, and the colors are shear perfection. I have got to grow my hair out!

I hope you all enjoyed these beautiful beachy love shoots. I think they are romantic and whimsical! Ah, the glamour of vintage styling.

Quality Magazine Feature: Vintage Beach Days

Germany’s Quality Magazine has really out done themselves with this beautifully styled and photographed shoot. Lauren Auerbach looks perfectly sixties in this colorful serene expose. Trust me you’ve never wanted to wear teal as badly as you will when you finish this.

I’m going to have to go buy some lipstick and nail polish in those colors! Lucky for all of us some of the wardrobe is from places that are perfectly accessible like Zara and ASOS!

It’s a perfect time to go to the beach!

Summer time is the best time. My endorphins are naturally high, my skin tans easily, my hair lightens naturally and I find it easy to just be.
