Week 23: Coral Satin from Anthropologie

I’m getting back in the swing of things, folks! After a very long day at work I wondered into my happy place. That’s right, Anthropologie. Don’t you love the disheveled faux vintage displays, the rustic unfinished decor, not to mention the inventory. Oh, it is such good therapy. While almost everything in the store is out of my price range, the lingerie is really quite affordable.

I’ve been obsessed with oranges, corals, tangerines, and reds this year (which is really not typically like me). So, when I saw this beautiful vintage inspired set, and in CORAL, how could I resist?

What I Got:

This clouded morning set is by Eloise, and the whole thing is very vintage inspired and seems to be made for comfort. Both the bra and the panties are made from 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex. The fabric gives off a sort of sheen that gives it a sort of satin look. On the tag of both the bra and panties it says ‘Keep Away From Fire’. I don’t know what this means. But, I find it entertaining.

The bra is called the clouded morning bra a corset style bustier with six eyelet hooks rather typical two or three. There is a lot of lace detail around the cups and around the band. The back portion of the straps is olive green. Which I find really fun! The bra can be machine washed but line dried. I paid $28.00 for it.

The panties are a sort of vintage style brief with a lot of gathering around the legs. There is more lace detail around the top of the panties. I love these panties. They were only $12.00!

Overall I think this set will be very good! I look forward to wearing it!

Week 19: Yes, the GAP, again.

Don’t judge me. I can’t help it. I love the GAP! The Uplifting Bra Sale Event ends on Wednesday May 9th, so you have time to get there. Trust me it is a great deal. All of the bras were $25 and most of them normally priced over $40.

Just a few days ago I walked into the GAP to look for jeans and I saw this new set that I thought I just had to have, but it was too expensive, so I thought I’d just wait until it went on sale. Sure enough there it was pretty and pink and sort of vintage. LOVE!

What I Got:

The bra is the Point d’esprit longline plunge demi bra, which is a part of their ‘Favorite Plunge’ collection. It is very pale pink (so I think I’ll be able to wear it under white) with little bitty polka dots in the lace. The band is a little bit thicker with some lace coming down below. It is sort of a french style and super feminine!

The bra is made of 92% Nylon and 8% Spandex. It should be handwashed in cold. It was originally priced at $44.50, and it’s advertised online as $35. But, I got it for $25! What a steal!

The panties are the Point d’esprit girl shorts (I’ve recently come to appreciate the boyshort style a lot more. It really did used to be my least favorite style of pantie). They are made of the same nylon spandex blend as the bra, but they can be machine washed. They were not on sale, but were not badly priced at $14.50.

I think this set is so very very pretty! Please go to the GAP and find your new favorite set. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Week 15: Polka Dots at Top Shop

I have been obsessed with polka dots ever since the spring stuff started coming out in stores. And for the most part the polka dots I love most are the white kind on top of navy. Classic. I wandered into Top Shop again today and Ta Da! There it was, a perfectly sweet half cup bra and panties set with polka dots and lace! I’m in love!

I love Top Shop. They organize things so well (and I can’t think of many things I love more than an organized store)! It is bright and happy in there while at the same time encouraging me to get what I need and get out. I rarely want to linger in Top Shop.

Their lingerie department is certainly not the largest lingerie department in the world, but what I love is that everything is perfectly neat and organized into the sets.

What I got:

The bra is a half cup bra with lace on the top. It is a satiny fabric. It is made of a polyester, elastane and cotton blend. It is hand wash only and was $40. I think this was sort of a splurge. But, this set is totally beautiful.

The panties are similar to the ones I got for Week 5. Sheer back with the same lace as the bra on the sides and the satin polka dots on the front. So cute! They are made of the same polyester, elastane and cotton blend. I think they are going to be very comfortable.

Truthfully, I don’t wear Week 5 very often. The bra isn’t super comfortable and neither are the panties. We’ll see how this goes. I’m hopeful. It is so cute!

Week 12 Review: Five Stars

Happy Friday friends! For Week 12 I purchased a beautiful blue half cup bra and bloomer set from Anthropologie. Yes, it was one of the more expensive sets I’ve purchased, but I think it was worth every dime!

A: It is beautiful, and totally sexy in a vintage way.

B: The bra fits perfectly, it is not a push up but I do also really love the half cup fit.

C: The bloomers are more comfortable than I imagined, I thought it was going to be this silly thing, and I’d feel practically naked. I also wondered if I could wear tights over them with out showing panty lines. But, honestly I think I could probably easily wear them under thicker jeans (jeans that weren’t super low rise any way).

I highly recommend a set like this, I was not at all disappointed.

Week 11 Review: Five Stars

In a word, success. If you remember, I’ve been very hesitant about my online shopping. And while, Week 11 took about a week longer to arrive than they said it would, it was totally worth the wait. This set is completely shear. The bra is a more of a bustier with no padding, but it does have an under-wire. The panties are a standard brief. The set has this lovely floral lace on the front and is sheer mesh on the back. It is so pretty!

This whole set is exceptionally comfortable, very pretty and sort of vintagey. I thought that maybe I wouldn’t feel like I was getting any lift from it, but, I felt really sexy in it. I totally recommend this type of bra. It is such a nice fit.

The panties fit just like any other brief. They are as comfortable as any other panty I’ve purchased anywhere else before. I love them!

Anyway, I totally recommend ASOS, just expect your delivery to take a week longer than they say.

Week 12: Vintage Bloomers From Anthropologie

So, I love Anthropologie. End of Story. I love Anthropologie. I’ve been looking into buying a set from there for almost the entire duration of this project. The main problem I’ve had is that the things I want are always more expensive than I want to pay. But, today I decided that maybe it was worth it.

Anthropologie is so beautifully designed. If I had a closet the size of two apartments I’d want it to look just like Anthropologie. Or rather, If I were single and had tones of money and tones of beautiful clothes I’d want to live in an apartment decorated just like Anthropologie. Maybe, I just wan to live in Anthropologie.

Alas, I cannot afford pretty much anything in there (*sigh*).

A few weeks ago I posted a lingerie shopping inspirational photo of a vintage set. Since then I’ve really been looking for the perfect vintage-esk set. Today I decided to get this beautiful blue, lace and silk set. It has these lovely little purple details. The only problem is that I’m not sure the panties will be very wearable with my everyday outfits (aka jeans and t-shirts). But, it is such a pretty set, and would be perfect under a a dress or skirt.

What I got:

The whole set is the Godetia by the Anthropologie brand SAM by Samantha Chang. It is a half cup bra with sky blue lace with lavender details. The lace portion is 85% Nylon and 15% Spandex, and the fabric portion is 93% Polyester and 7% Spandex. It is machine washable and dryer safe (amazing!).  I paid $44 for it, which is more than I prefer to spend, but it is so beautiful!

The panties are by the same brand and are more like bloomers than the traditional bikini briefs. They are very vintagey! I love them! The are made up of the same blend of materials. They were $24, again more than I like to spend, but they are so silky!

We’ll see how this set goes, I’m not sure about how the panties are going to work in the everyday, but I’m excited to try it out. I’m really excited about this set, maybe too excited. I might get heartbroken. I’m nervous.
